The frame came today - it is gorgeous. I think the lugs help set off the tubes - at any rate it is a beautiful frame and a wonderful orange color - a nice combination of curvacious Max tubes, lugs, and orange. Thanks again for all of your work, I really like your frames.

Steve Davis has a new Lighthouse

Steve has been riding his previous Lighthouse for more than 20 years.

Steve recently decided to ride the next 20 years on a new, modern Lighthouse equiped with Shimano 7900. Here it is.

The next build includes this set of lugs which, as you can see, resemble a chunky block of marble requiring careful hand sculpting and filing to transform them into a crisp, beautiful addition to the set of Columbus Max tubes they'll join.

You'll notice this Specialized ad in recent issues of various Mountain Bike magazines touting the Stumpjumper's advanced technology, construction and abilities. Of course, that was 30 years ago.

As the Stumpjumper's designer I was asked to appear in the ad, so there I am beaming like a proud papa in my overalls and 'stash. Looking at this old ad I realized that we not only pioneered the mountain bike, but with techology borrowed from the world of industrial garments, we also pioneered the bib short.

Alberto Contador recently visited Specialized HQ and was noticed browsing the Specialized bicycle museum. The Stumpjumer to Alberto's left was made before the TdF winning wippersnapper was born.

Good afternoon, Tim.

I hope you are doing well. Sorry it took so
long to get a full build pic to you of the frame you built for me in
December, but I have been riding alot and the frame you built for me
has been getting a ton of use. (about 2.5K miles since I got it built
up)

Needless to say I couldn't be happier with the ride quality and
the fit is just spot-on. One of my closest riding buddies has a
custom Yamaguchi and my Lighthouse is the one that draws the most
raves when placed side-by-side.

Anyway here is a pic I took 5/21 on Glendora Ridge Road. The setting
is on the route of the Mt Baldy stage at the Tour of California. My
bike club and I rode most of the entire stage and then posted up at
the club van where the picture was taken to cheer on the California
riders.
